Conference Weekend

We had a fantastic General Conference weekend.  We turned the plum couch around, brought in the newly assembled rocking chair and gathered around the computer for all four sessions.

We had grapes, clementines, chips, and I made tuna salad, egg salad, spinach artichoke dip, deviled eggs for our lunches.  Good eating!  Each day, we just soaked up all the great messages and had the luxury of relaxing in between sessions.

Tamara and Bacon during the Sunday afternoon session.

Steve watched from the table.

Sadie and Trissy are becoming bessies.  Although, Sadie still insists on going outside first and she has to snarl at Trissy to tell her this- every time!

Of course, I had a project to do while I watched.  Our stake humanitarian project day is in July and we will be making cute animal puppets like these to give to local day-cares.  SO EASY to make.

Each member of the stake Relief Society presidency is making some sample puppets (cows, pigs, bears).  We will also make these medical play dolls for hospitals and clinics to use with their young patients.

They are used for demonstrating how an IV will be inserted and other medical procedures.  They have no face so the children can color in their features (showing how they might really be feeling).  I stuffed 14 of these babies
and I am in the process of making their hospital gowns.

We will give each ward or branch Relief Society president one puppet and one doll to take back to their units to show the sisters what we plan to do.

Beckie, this photo is for you!  Our yard is in full bloom and, with so many hyacinths in every flower bed, it smells delicious.  Wish I could send a real bouquet to you.

Remember those doggie stairs we bought for Sadie to get on and off our bed?  Well, she has mastered the going up part really well.  She does it all the time.  However, she is still hesitant to go down on her own.  If I nudge her little bottom to the edge of the bed, she will step down but otherwise, she will sit in the middle of our bed and bark to be let down!  Oh, Sadie.

Look for both Trissy and Sadie sporting their spring haircuts next blog......
