Jamie Kaye Coppenbarger is my longest-time friend. She and I are six months apart in age (Jamie is older) and we grew up next-door to each other on Navajo Aveneu in El Paso. We played together since we could walk and talk and, when my sister Juli was born, we became a trio.
Jamie still lives in El Paso and, when her dear, invalid mother passed away a few years ago, she became mama to unwanted kitties and now has a houseful of them! A few are fairly sickly so she cannot leave home for long periods of time. BUT, she CAN fly to Phoenix for a few hours to visit and that is just what she did on Saturday, December 2nd. Steve and I picked her up from the airport at about noon and we drove to the Mesa Temple visitor's center to admire the beautiful sights (including the incredible nativities from all around the world on display), for a picnic lunch, and to just talk and talk. All too soon, we had to drop her back off at the airport for her 5:00 pm flight.
